Terrible Wine Labels

On a recent trip to California I wandered around the wine shelves of a mid-range supermaket and was struck by how many dreadful labels and 'concepts' there were. Don't get me wrong, scouring Tesco's shelves would reveal horrors in the UK too, but of the 100 or so wines in this supermarket I'd guess around 25 had lowest-common-denominator labels.

I guess a social anthropologist could explain why this appeals - or the wine industry thinks it appeals - to a certain sector of US drinkers, but for now just revel in their awfulness:
