This spicy, syrah-based wine has a charcoally, burning embers quality on the nose, with crisp black fruit and a touch of white pepper. The palate is very dry with moderate tannins, alcohol and acidity. There is good creamy berry fruit. Easy to drink yet with a serious edge, this would be especially good with meat dishes or cheddar-like cheese. Majestic £4.99.
