Domain Houchart Provence Rosé, France
Early summer is the perfect time to think pink, and this is a rosé from one of my favourite regions for this style: Provence. Provence specialises in rosé and unlike many regions,
tend to focus on making rosé specifically from gently pressed red wine grapes. Others are basically the by-product of winemakers removing some juice from their fermenting tanks of red wine
in order to concentrate their reds. This has a lovely herbal and cherry freshness on the nose, with imediately delicate notes hinting at flowers. The palate is fresh as a daisy,
but fruity and with a certain mouth-filling creaminess too. More information and food match suggestions in the video. £6.95, The Wine Society.
