La Forêt Hilaire (France) Semillon Sauvignon 2006
The 2006 Forêt Hilaire is a pleasant, juicy little number smartly repackaged in a screwcapped bottle, as is its red sibling, the Cabernet Merlot 2005. The white has a pretty, pear drop and lemon nose with a hint of gooseberry, and a palate of crunchy citrus and white fruit, that is very clean and fresh, and has a nice core of acidity extending through a tangy finish. Better value on a cut-price deal at Tesco when £3.99, but regular price is £5.99
