Wines of Roussillon in Edinburgh
- free to wine-pages visitors!

The wines of Roussillon in the south of France are coming to Edinburgh on Monday October 10th, with a "drop in" tasting at the Balmoral Hotel, 1 Princes Street, from 10am - 5pm. Nineteen producers will be flying over from Perpignan to showcase over 150 wines.

This tasting has been arranged for the wine trade and press, but I have arranged exclusive free access to the event for wine-pages readers.

I visited Roussillon earlier this year when I was invited to be a Judge at the region's annual "St Bacchus" awards, where the "Bacchus" is awarded to the best wine from each of Roussillon's appellations. I also spent a few days touring the estates, and you can read my full report on the event.

This is a particularly diverse and rich wine growing area, where wines range from the dry table wines of Côtes du Roussillon, to the extraordinary sweet wines of Banyuls, Maury and Rivesaltes. Now, any wine-pages visitor able to make it along can discover the wines for themselves - no charge, and all welcome.

To RSVP, or ask for more information, please contact Kate Fairclough. Email: CIVR-Focuspr@focuspr.co.uk, tel: 020 7432 9432.

I hope you enjoy the tasting.
