Landmark (California) "Overlook" Chardonnay 1996
The colour is a deep, glowing gold. The sensational, pungent nose is leesy and toasty
with charred oak and a mass of unctuous figgy fruit. There are nuances of Jack Daniels
whiskey barrels. On the palate there are buttery flavours of brazil nuts, cinnamon and
orchard fruits with a clean, mineral streak through the centre. Succulent through good
acidity, this is flamboyant and delicious stuff. Currently in Oddbins UK at £12.99 ($20).
