Niellon, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru les Champgains 1996
Pale straw colour. Restrained nose but showing some yeasty character and delicate citrus fruit. On the palate the wine
is fairly lean and light, with a cool, stony quality and lemon acidity. I really think this needs time before I could judge it accurately. Not
as forward or impressive as the '95 was at the same stage. Try in a couple of years. (03/98)
