Masi (Italy) Campofiorin Ripasso 1994
This is a quality Valpolicella. It is a dark, nut-brown/red colour. Intense nose of raisins, prunes and stewed-fruit
compote, hints of earl-grey tea and flowers. On the palate the wine is surprisingly cool, smooth and pure, with ethereal flavours
of rose-hips, bitter cherries, nuts and damsons. The finish has good plummy acidity and there is good length. Fine stuff,
and the best Ripasso I've tasted (12/98)
