La Chablisienne, Chablis 1er Cru Fourchaume 1990
Pale to medium gold, still a youthful tinge of green. Nutty nose, perhaps a little rot?
Some botrytis too with aromas of honey, orange and over-ripe banana. Medium
bodied, quite luscious mouthfeel. Spicy, with a buttery character but a core of succulent
pear fruit, little nuances of oatmeal. Good citrus acidity and a lingering finish. Complex
and rather nice, though the little rotten note detracts slightly. From a half. (04/99) |
