Becky Sue Epstein

Becky is a wine and food writer with a passion for aperitif and after-dinner wines. She is now based on the East Coast of the United States after many years in Los Angeles. Becky began her writing career there, as restaurant critic for the LA Times in the 1980's and 90's.

Since then she has made her living as a freelance writer on wine and spirits in both local and national publications. Her work has appeared in the Wine Spectator and Food & Wine magazines amongst others. She describes her main areas of expertise as "wine history, aperitif and dessert wines, including sherry, champagne, fortified and dessert wines, madeira, port, etc.". Becky is currently preparing a new book, The Dessert Course, and you can visit the website of this work in progress: www.dessertcourse.com.

Becky travels extensively both within the USA and across the globe. Her first contribution for wine-pages will be a profile of the Coonawarra in Australia following a recent visit, but future articles will touch on the US wine scene amongst a broad range of topics, no doubt inluding her beloved spirits, aperitif and dessert wines.
